UN Summit For the Future

UN Summit For the Future - Room for Optimism, a precondition for success in challenging times

The UN Summit of the Future https://lnkd.in/etFMWUNz taking place in New-York on September 22nd and 23rd will adopt a Pact for the Future. The UN Action Days will build the momentum and frame the debate on priority actions and solutions towards the adoption of the Pact.

We feel it is utterly important to turn the poly-crisis into a poly-opportunity for climate, people and nature, with a clear action agenda infused by the spirit of optimism and radical collaboration, working as One team for One Planet.

UN Summit Action Day: Room for Optimism, a precondition for success in challenging times (21st of September, at 13:00 NY time in CR6, at the heart of the UN Headquarters) in partnership with the Global governance innovation network, Climate Bridges, BIC and UN Representatives, please free to attend or share:

The much anticipated Summit of the Future is on our doorstep. Representatives from Member States, the UN, Civil Society express hope and concern, encouragement and hesitation, optimism and doubt regarding the Summit. Hundreds of recommendations have been directed toward the Pact, representing significant consensus around the need for change. Yet, success will be measured by how this Summit is able to respond to complex and growing risks. The challenges are well-known, yet it is hope and a commitment to the wellbeing of humanity, ultimately, that will sustain our efforts. We need a shared, optimistic narrative, alongside a sophisticated understanding of the challenges we face, in order to overcome inaction. This is a prerequisite on the path toward a future of peace and prosperity.
