Situated in the heart of Amazonia, COP30 concludes at a moment when trust in multilateralism is fragile and climate impacts are intensifying. As Mary Robinson, Co-Founder of Project Dandelion and member of The Elders, reminded us: “The deal isn’t perfect and is far from what science requires. But at a time when multilateralism is being tested, it is significant that countries continue to move forward together… We saw real steps in establishing a just transition mechanism, agreeing on a gender action plan, and calling to triple adaptation for vulnerable nations by 2035.”

As COP30 takes place in the heart of the Amazon, the "green lung" of the planet, world leaders face a decisive choice for humanity's future: will they invest in protecting life, or in weapons of destruction? President Lula has set the tone in his opening speech, stating: "Let's invest in the forest rather than in war."

Ahead of our partnership dialogue on Women Entrepreneurs Driving Climate Innovation and Adaptation we had the honour of handing our Climate Bridges open letter to Nigar Arpadarai, UN Climate Change High-Level Champion for COP29.

At COP30, global leaders and development finance partners collectively called to accelerate finance for women entrepreneurs on the frontlines of climate adaptation and resilience. Despite their proven impact, less than 1% of global climate finance currently supports women-led initiatives.

After a summer marked by periods of intense heat, more and more business leaders are expressing concern about the impact of global warming on their business models. Swiss industry faces a twofold dilemma: it must invest in achieving carbon neutrality while also anticipating the material risks associated with rising temperatures.

About a month after our Summer retreat, Climate Bridges reconvened in Geneva on August 22 for a focused strategy day designed to turn shared insight into coordinated action. The core team, along with partners, members, and colleagues came together with a clear intention: to strengthen our ecosystem so it can catalyze the Well-Being Economy through collaborative, regenerative leadership.

We’re looking for a Community, Communications & Event Management Intern to support our mission of building bridges for climate and sustainability. This part-time role is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in communications, event organization, and community-building—while working alongside a global network of changemakers.

On 3 April 2025, Climate Bridges and Pictet hosted a high-level dialogue in Zurich to explore how finance can better align with climate and biodiversity goals. With Swiss finance driving emissions far beyond domestic levels, speakers called for bold regulation, collaborative action, and stewardship that goes beyond box-ticking.

A coalition of women leaders in finance and sustainability has issued an urgent call for stronger regulations to stop harmful investments in deforestation and fossil fuels, urging support for the Swiss initiative "For a Sustainable Swiss Financial Center."
